“The
man behind The Big Yin Revisited is certainly the most committed
and accurate comedy tribute impressionist I have ever seen. Billy Connolly
has to be one of the greatest stand-up comedians on the planet and
recreating the style and substance of the Scot is a brave feat indeed. But
the Showcall faithful audience howled with laughter and the interest
generated by The Big Yin Revisited was sure to considerable.” THE STAGE
.
A tribute to 70s Billy Connolly. Do you remember the impact Billy Connolly had back in the 1970s when he first appeared on Parkinson?
Well Clydebank ’s Gary Moir does and he wants you to join him in rekindling the Connolly of old. Moir performs all of his own material however done in the style of the Big Yin himself. It isn’t old rehashed gags it’s the story of Connolly in his hey-day.
Just like the Big Yin, Gary Moir is a failed welder and he draws on the spirit and humour of the shipyards to wow audiences with a show Mr Connolly himself would be proud of.
As a former winner of ITV’s Stars in Their Eyes – you can be guaranteed Moir’s take of the Big Yin will be spot on whilst the gags are as sharp and fresh as Partick’s favourite son were when he first burst into the big time in the 1970s.
The
Big Yin Revisited's Glasgow Comedy Festival shows have sold out
consecutively bigger venues for the past 4 years.
It is no
secret that over the past 3 years, LEE LARD has become one of the most
successful comedy acts in the UK with his outstanding tribute to
Bolton's funny man Peter Kay.
With an
uncanny resemblance to Peter Kay and his own natural comic talent, Lee
has gained a popularity that most comedians can only dream of.
From Leeds to London, Manchester to Majorca, Lee's unique one-hour
comedy extravaganza is a 'sell-out' wherever he goes.
Delivering
his own hilarious 'Peter Kay' style of stand-up, Lee appeals to
audiences of all ages. Well known catch phrases such as 'GARLIC
BREAD' and CHEESE CAKE' obviously make an appearance during the show, as
does 'Brian Potter' from 'Phoenix Nights' and 'Max' from 'Max and
Paddy's Road to Nowhere'. Yes....complete with wheelchair and
attitude, Lee brings the popular Brian Potter character to the stage
where no-one escapes his sharp tongue and quick wit!!
Remember
Peter Kay's Comic relief DVD 'Is this the way to Amarillo'?.....Well, that
was Lee Lard with Peter Kay and Tony Christie as Peter's double. He's
lost a few pounds since then.

Please
note: Most comedians are lazy incompetent sods, who can't read a train
timetable, or would pay 30 pieces of silver to appear on a pilot for a radio
panel show. Thus all line ups are subject to change.
Please check with the venue 24hrs prior
to the show for confirmation of line ups.
