THE granddaddy of Scottish
comedy! Stu has been a firm favourite with comedy fans around the world
for nearly two decades now.
As
one of
Britain’s most in demand performers
this is a rare chance to see Stu flying solo in his own show and playing
on his own terms and within his own boundaries – of which there aren’t
many.
The
veteran of STV’s Funny Farm has more outrageous and shock filled
adventures in a weekend than the average man in the street has in a
lifetime and he intersperses these tales amongst his unique agenda for a
better world.
Inspired by his World travels,
the Godfather of Scottish Comedy rants, raves, and raps that Buddhism,
Socialism, and Masturbation are the solution, albeit a sticky one, to all
our ailments.
Stu Who? hit the comedy world
with a big punch in 1988 and he gave up working as a warden in a YMCA
hostel for 'troubled boys' in order to try and make perfect strangers
laugh. In the very same year he went on to win "The Spirit of Mayfest"
at
Glasgow
's annual Arts Festival and made his first performance on television.
Since then Stu has worked the length and breadth of the country, notched
up plenty of television, radio and writing credits and has performed his
stand-up as far afield as Australia.
WHAT
THEY SAY:
"Stu has a fine turn of phrase, a taste for
the unexpected, a relaxed approach, a totally professional sense of
timing, but his humour always packs a punch." Festival Times
