DES MCLEAN: IT’S HIM OFF THE RADIO
Star of Radio Clyde’s “Bowie at Breakfast” and Billy Connolly’s favourite comedian - Des McLean embarks on this at the Grand Hall in the newly refurbished City Halls.Des has built up a huge battalion of fans with his work on the stand-up circuit but thousands more have tuned into the East Ender and his comedy creations every morning at 8.10am on George Bowie’s Radio Clyde Breakfast show.

THE BIG YIN REVISITED
A tribute to 70s Billy Connolly. Do you remember the impact Billy Connolly had back in the 1970s when he first appeared on Parkinson?
Well Clydebank’s Gary Moir does and he wants you to join him in rekindling the Connolly of old. Moir performs all of his own material however done in the style of the Big Yin himself. It isn’t old rehashed gags it’s the story of Connolly in his hey-day.
Just like the Big Yin, Gary Moir is a failed welder and he draws on the spirit and humour of the shipyards to wow audiences with a show Mr Connolly himself would be proud of.
As a former winner of ITV’s Stars in Their Eyes – you can be guaranteed Moir’s take of the Big Yin will be spot on whilst the gags are as sharp and fresh as Partick’s favourite son were when he first burst into the big time in the 1970s. Take a trip back to the future and enjoy an unforgettable evening in the stunning surroundings of the Old Fruitmarket.
WHAT THEY SAY:
“The man behind The Big Yin Revisited is certainly the most committed and accurate comedy tribute impressionist I have ever seen. Billy Connolly has to be one of the greatest stand-up comedians on the planet and recreating the style and substance of the Scot is a brave feat indeed. But the Showcall faithful audience howled with laughter and the interest generated by The Big Yin Revisited was sure to considerable.” THE STAGE

BRENDON BURNS: SOBER NOT CLEAN
PETE Doherty only holds a provisional license in hell-raising when compared to the antics of the hard-living Aussie comic Brendon Burns over the years.
Unlike Doherty - Burns has the talent to back up his antics and deliver anecdotes, tales and nostril ripping yarns that have kept audiences engaged around the globe for years.
In the final part of his autobiographical Burnsy Vs Brendon trilogy the no-holds barred stand-up talks about going mad and winding up in
re-hab. In part one he dissected his onstage and offstage personas. In part two he handed out enough mushrooms to get 1,000 people high with him at Glastonbury. And now… well, this ‘Sober Not Clean’
Despite having calmed down and found god Burns is unchanged in his “pull-no-punches” style and is as foul-mouthed as ever. Don’t miss the conclusion to this critically acclaimed smash and Edinburgh Fringe sell-out.
WHAT THEY THOUGHT:
“Burns' comic brain is back firing on all cylinders, and now he can rely on his fierce and fearless intellect” Chortle *****
“Burns has emerged triumphant, loud, brash, rude, in your face and fantastically, laugh-out-loud funny.” The Scotsman *****
“an exceptionally funny performer.” Edinburgh Evening News

ANDREW MAXWELL: AROUND TWILIGHT
ANDREW Maxwell is, in his own words: “a weasly little fucker who manages to make friends and talk my way out of awkward situations” wherever he may be. And ‘Around Twilight’ is essentially, three extended anecdotes crossing three continents, all offering evidence in support of that honest self-portrait.
The winner of Channel 4’s ‘King of Comedy’ now has a list of accolades to his name that’d frighten the French. Alongside a multitude of TV appearances last year, he appeared on the same bill as Jerry Seinfeld and Ben Stiller at the HBO US Comedy and Arts Festival in Las Vegas and, last July he played the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival before embarking on his barn-storming run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with this show.
First up are his post-gig exploits in Doha, the capital of the Gulf state of Qatar, when he suddenly finds himself being driven into the pitch-black desert by a handful of Arab strangers who he just met at a party but turn out to be not quite who they seem.
Then he finds himself in a dark alley in Cape Town being intimidated by a street gang from whom he's just agreed to buy weed; and finally he finds himself performing in front of a black audience in New York whose only experience of Irish life is based on a cereal packet.
One of the big hitters on the world comedy stage and certainly a show not to be missed at this year’s Glasgow International Comedy Festival
WHAT THEY THOUGHT:
***** List.
“The strongest comedian on the circuit” Daily Telegraph.

MAXWELL’S FULLMOONERS
CLAP your hands, stomp your feet, put the howl on top! Currently the UK's most talked about late night comedy show, hosted by the award-winning comic Andrew Maxwell, transfers from its roots in London's premiere comedy venue The Comedy Store to this year's Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
Fullmooners in London has seen Simon Pegg make a return to stand up after 9 years off the circuit likewise Paul Merton's for 6 years, plus a host of top comics including Dara O
'Briain, Paul Merton, Russell Brand, Noel Fielding and Jimmy Carr to name but a few, as well as regular breakdancers and go go girls.
Fullmooners always has a very special guest, be it a TV star or an old school comic, and Maxwell conjures up the kind of atmosphere needed to get these guests doing the bizarre and unexpected.
A sell-out run at the Fringe in 2006 secured this as the must-see late show of the festival and the Fullmooner’s night in Glasgow will be no different. Who can argue with a show that throws Jade Goody out of its’ audience?
Come Howl at the Moon!
WHAT THEY THOUGHT:
“Brilliant” Paul Merton
“Magical” Noel Fielding
“An amazing night” Simon Pegg
“Continue to support this great show” Jimmy Carr

JANEY GODLEY & ASHLEY STORRIE’S SQUARE STREET
USUALLY mothers and daughters go shopping together, perhaps, swimming or maybe even take up a cross stitch class.
Not Janey and Ashley. They have set about putting together a viciously funny, and really rather crude sketch show.
But it’s a sketch show that packed out the crowds during last year’s Edinburgh Fringe racking up top reviews from critics along the way.
This is comedy unbothered by political correctness. For further evidence consider the cast list of recurring characters: the foul-mouthed gypsy fortune teller, the foul-mouthed
novice prostitute, the foul-mouthed grannie, the foul-mouthed Jesus, the foul-mouthed…
But the sweary words go over your head when you realise that as much as watching a mother and daughter you’re watching two women giggling and having fun and they’re bringing you along for the ride
At 13, Ashley Storrie was the Fringe's youngest comic and now aged 20 she’s back in comedy with her acclaimed stand-up-playwright-actress-author mum Janey Godley. Go along – expect to be shocked but expect to have fun too!
WHAT THEY SAY
“Comedy unbothered by political correctness... language you would think you really oughtn't to use in front of your mother, let alone perform alongside her... delicacy is perhaps not an issue... downright offensive lines” (Chortle)
"Inevitably comparable to 'Little Britain', 'Square Street' is far funnier... not for the faint-hearted, but it's a must-see for everyone else." (Three Weeks) ****
"A biting, bare-faced assault on the Fringe - the sine qua non of political incorrectness" (The Scotsman)

GLENN WOOL: YOU DON’T GO TO HELL FOR EATING ELEPHANTS
CANADIAN Glenn Wool drew plaudits and punters alike at the Fringe in Edinburgh in 2006 with his switched on, intelligent show “You Don’t Go To Hell for Eating Elephants.”
He plunders the world wide web, newspapers and television news to provide an intoxicating mix of intelligent, thoughtful, well-researched material on the issues of the day, plus proper, punchy, often silly jokes.
He bashes political un-correctness wherever he sees it and just for good measure gives the over protective guardians of political correctness a slap too. While this might all sound very weighty and worthy Woll is not beyond getting down and dirty and offering up some grade-A filth just to keep the tone hovering above gutter.
And as proof of this you need only see the surprise finale of this show to learn just how filthy this fellow can get.
Glenn began his comedy career eight years ago in his home town of Vancouver. He moved to London four years ago and quickly became one of the rising stars of the London comedy circuit eventually leading him to tour with Irish comedy superstar Ed Byrne.
TV Credits include The BBC Stand Up Show and BBC's Edinburgh Comedy has starred on the BBC's Live Floor Show.
WHAT THEY SAY:
"You have to go and see Glenn Wool"
The Guardian
"Tipped for greatness"
The Telegraph
"His material is good and occasionally great. He is terrific on drugs. I was impressed"

JIM JEFFRIES: HELLBOUND
Triumphantly returned to Edinburgh in 2006 after 2004's complete sell-out show 'Porn Idol'. The internationally acclaimed story-teller presents his most morally bankrupt AND FUNNIEST show to date.
As seen on 'Never Mind The Buzzcocks' and star of 'The History of Offensive Humour', Australian born Jim Jeffries is a headline comic on all five continents.
In 2005 Jim wowed audiences at Montreal's 'Just for Laughs' Comedy Festival where he was performing in the highly acclaimed 'Nasty Show'. In fact, he proved so hard to follow that he was moved into the vaunted closer position.
Jeffries gets away with jokes that most comedians would not to touch due to his ability to both charm and offend the crowd through equal measures.
His “Second Coming” show won him many new fans during last year’s Fringe, including cult US shock comic Doug Stanhope, with an hour of X-rated comedy covering sex, drugs, drink, abuse and religion and anything else
inbetween.
Not for the faint-hearted.
WHAT THEY SAY:
"He had us on the edge of our seats" **** The List
'A man untouched by political correctness' The Scotsman
'Like all the greats, he is able to turn filth into a art form.' Montreal Gazette
'Most explicit, offensive, un-politically correct but deceptively well structured show on the fringe, for all out laughs at any expense, Jeffries show has to come highly recommended. Much like pornography, this is a highly guilty pleasure' Chortle

JOHN BISHOP: GOING TO WORK
John Bishop performed stand-up comedy for the first time in October 2000, and the following year made it to the final of all the major new act competitions, including So You Think You’re Funny, the Daily Telegraph Open Mic Awards, the BBC New Comedy Awards and the City Life North West Comedian of The Year Award, which he won.
In 2002, he was named best newcomer by BBC Radio Merseyside, and in 2004 he won the North West Comedy Award for best stand-up.
His material is drawn from his life's experiences, from fatherhood to cycling around the world, to playing semi- professional football, to working as a nightclub doorman.
Those who know how good this man was when he still had a day job can only wonder at how funny he is now that he has to be funny to feed his kids. He might just be Liverpool’s answer to Peter Kay.
WHAT THEY SAY:
“Must see show… if you fail to laugh like a lunatic on ether, check yourself into a mortuary: you are probably dead” The Metro
"The level of popularity that Bishop elicits is because, from the very beginning, he's shown spontaneity rarely seen in someone of his experience. "I just do the stuff that's in my head, but there's a little bit of structure to it. Though Steve Harris (comedian) said to me once 'I like it when I'm watching you because there are times that you almost die.'" City Life Magazine, Manchester.
"John Bishop is on the brink of the big time" - The Liverpool Echo

TOBY HADOKE:MOTHS ATE MY DR.WHO SCARF
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you probably love Doctor Who now but where the hell were you 16 years ago? Did you miss it when it was gone?
In 1996 burglars robbed Toby's flat they took a broken guitar, a Bananrama single (on vinyl!) and half a jar of coffee
(Kwik Save's own brand), yet left his Doctor Who video collection intact. Now everyone wants a piece of it.
So get out from behind that sofa and get aboard award winning comedian Toby Hadokes’s TARDIS on a trip through time, charting the rise, fall and subsequent rise of a television legend. A swift, personal, satirical and razor sharp comic odyssey from child to man, through obsession, joy and disappointment.
This show certainly isn’t just for the Geek at the back of the classroom – although they’re welcome to try and pit their Who might against Toby – he’s a walking encyclopaedia of the programme and won’t be beaten. But anyone who’s ever had a passion for anything at anytime in their life only to rediscover it.
Possibly one of the most heart-warming shows of last year’s Fringe and a cert to do likewise at the Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
WHAT THEY SAY:

Gallifrey.” ****Chortle

STU WHO?: ZEN AND THE ART OF WAN KING
THE granddaddy of Scottish comedy! Stu has been a firm favourite with comedy fans around the world for nearly two decades now.
As one of Britain’s most in demand performers this is a rare chance to see Stu flying solo in his own show and playing on his own terms and within his own boundaries – of which there aren’t many.
Find out what really goes on behind those dark sunglasses and his philosophies on life, love and beyond in ‘Zen and the Art of Wan King.’
The veteran of STV’s Funny Farm has more outrageous and shock filled adventures in a weekend than the average man in the street has in a lifetime and he intersperses these tales amongst his unique agenda for a better world.
Inspired by his World travels, the Godfather of Scottish Comedy rants, raves, and raps that Buddhism, Socialism, and Masturbation are the solution, albeit a sticky one, to all our ailments.
Stu Who? hit the comedy world with a big punch in 1988 and he gave up working as a warden in a YMCA hostel for 'troubled boys' in order to try and make perfect strangers laugh. In the very same year he went on to win "The Spirit of
Mayfest" at Glasgow's annual Arts Festival and made his first performance on television. Since then Stu has worked the length and breadth of the country, notched up plenty of television, radio and writing credits and has performed his stand-up as far afield as Australia.
WHAT THEY SAY:
"Stu has a fine turn of phrase, a taste for the unexpected, a relaxed approach, a totally professional sense of timing, but his humour always packs a punch." Festival Times

GARY LITTLE: DON’T WORRY, IT’S JUST A SIDE EFFECT
In 2003 Gary was one of the new comedy stars discovered in The Stand’s Daily Record sponsored new talent search.
In just over two years Gary Little has gone from beginner to big hitter with hundreds of gigs up and down the country plus turns in areas as far flung as Barcelona. In demand as an act and a compere, Gary is a regular at clubs across the country. He wrote and performed his first solo show at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival in 2004 and also featured in the Stand Edinburgh’s ‘Best of Scottish’ comedy shows in 2005, which sell out at the Fringe every year.
Now the big man returns to the festival with tales of living with his parents and his paranoia over a diagnosis of depression as well as additional entertaining anecdotes of an… ahem… adult nature.
With a wealth of material covering a myriad of topics, Gary is guaranteed to get the laughter going, no matter what the occasion. His confrontational stage presence is tempered by his own admittance to being ‘soft as shite’ – though his ‘cuddly’ interior won’t stop the scary exterior from giving anyone foolish enough to heckle something to cry about.
Gary’s humour is honest, refreshing and in-yer-face with a wealth of material derived from a life lived to the full.

MARK NELSON
THE SCOTTISH COMEDIAN OF THE YEAR IS LOWERING THE TONE
DESPITE having only been performing comedy since 2005, Mark Nelson has firmly established himself on the comedy circuit by scooping the coveted Scottish Comedian of the Year title in 2006.
His mix of dark humour, cutting observations and clever one-liners mean Nelson has become a solidly consistent and excellent stand-up to be reckoned with. His talents are so highly thought of he charted at number 62 in The List magazine's 100 Hottest Scottish Stars of 2006.
Mark, 26, triumphed at the inaugural Scottish Comedian of the Year competition in September last year at a showcase event in Glasgow's Old Fruitmarket in front of an esteemed panel of judges and an audience of over 300. In winning the contest he had to see off the efforts of comedians with vastly more experience and following from around the country, displaying the gagman’s true abilities.
With an effortless, likeable manner on stage and confident delivery, Nelson often has audiences laughing at things they know they really shouldn't be laughing at. This show – part of his winner’s prize package – aims to take his audience a little lower and a little further into the darkness in what is his debut solo show. A rising star not to be missed.

PAUL PIRIE: I PIRIE THE FOOL
Paul began his stand up career in April 2004. At that time he was living with his Nan, having given away his flat in a pub quiz.
Paul quickly established himself on the Scottish circuit and had a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2004 when he teamed up with comedy partner Keir McAllister in “Rehab’s for Quitters.” Paul continued to gig up and down the country before writing and performing in the 2005 Glasgow Comedy Festival sell out show “Scotland 4 Australia 1” which went on to have a further successful run in the Edinburgh Fringe.
However this is the manic clown’s first foray into the Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival with a solo show and who knows what madness awaits the paying punter.
He raised his stock on the Scottish comedy circuit last year by finishing as runner-up in the Scottish Comedian of the Year competition which saw him secure a whole new legion of fans as well as win a part in BBC Radio Scotland’s comedy series “Close.”
Paul joined esteemed comedy-improv group Dance Monkey Boy Dance in August 2005 and performs with them at The Stand Glasgow every Monday. The show is in development with the BBC.
Paul and Keir were recently asked to write a comedy script for Kate Lawler for an up-coming reality TV show. He can be seen gigging for The Stand, HaHa Comedy and Last Laugh Comedy Clubs.

THE BRATCHPIECE FAMILY SHOW
IF the Osmonds had taken a drink or perhaps had just been a little less Mormon-ish they could have flourished into the well-rounded loving family that is the
Bratchpieces.
The Bratchpieces are Britain’s only family of stand up comedians led by faither Mark
Bratchpiece, oldest son Bratchy and the youngest brother, naturally called the Wee Man.
Now when Pa Bratchpiece decided to try his hand at the stand-up dunkies years ago little did he know what he was starting. His subtle, intelligent, Lanarkshire, Tim-Prod-Jewish humour has seen him become one of the elder-statesmen of the circuit. He has astounded audiences with his clever word play, and charming observations about everything from everyday life to the bigger questions posed by the universe.
Now when you see the Bratchpiece Bairns you do begin to wonder whether faither really is
faither. Bratchy is blond and six foot odd tall and ought to be called Gunthar or something. And there’s nothing obviously Jewish about this boy and the humour could not be further removed from the subtlety of his Auld Da’. Bratchy’s as subtle as a snout in a pub these days.
Then there’s the Wee Man – a nedrick, that turns the tales of his life in the Lanarkshire Ghetto of Motherwell into prose that 50cent might well fling in the bin. Faither is a master with words, this one is a master making words mince.
The one thing the boys and their faither do have in common is that they are very, very funny. This is the family show that’s not suitable for the family – unless you’re the
Osbournes.

BILL BRUCE: INTELLIGENCE
Multi-Channel. Broadband. Wi-Fi. High-Definition humour. An hour of non offensive intelligent comedy downloaded right into your face.
Bill Bruce is a political satirist, social commentator and international 'troublemaker'.
He was semi-finalist in the Metro Life New Act Competition in 2003, and was a finalist in the Laughing Horse New Act Competition in 2004 and the Ribbed New Act Competition, also in 2004.
Bill delighted his audience at last year’s Glasgow International Comedy Festival with his uncompromisingly polite, non-offensive solo show – just proving you don’t need to use hard words to cover hard topics.
He has appeared on Channel 5, BBC and ITV and has guested on BBC Radio Scotland's Fred Macaulay Show and Radio Five's Simon Mayo Show. He also writes a regular humorous column for a best-selling music magazine.
He made his Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2004 with his show Dumbing Up and followed this in 2005 with Political Hot Potato Vol.1.

VIV GEE: SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF
VIV is Scottish Comedy’s favourite aunty – not only with fellow comics but with her army of followers who hang on her every comedic and poetic word.
Viv began her career as a comic at the tender age of 15 and has been a stalwart of the circuit ever since.
Her vast experience as a performer and comedic writer has seen her progress to the status of a
demi-goddess in Scotland having nurtured the talents of STV’s Des Clarke and Radio Clyde’s Des McLean through her stand-up comedy courses.
And it’s no surprise she knows a thing or two about the comedy business given that she appeared in the finals of the 1993 'So You Think Your Funny ?' competition alongside such esteemed names as Dylan Moran and Steve
Furst.
And then two years later at the BBC’s New Comedy Award Finals in Edinburgh she shared a stage with Daniel
Kitson, Lee Mack and Silky. She is a master craftswoman with words and her gentle teasing humour has been a winner with comedy punters for over a decade now.
Viv has sold out her solo show every year at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival and this year should be no different as she returns with more tales, quips, puns and poems. As she says herself come along before she’s too old to do it anymore.

Charlie has been performing on the UK circuit for six years. In that time he has written and performed in two Fringe shows which have been very well received by audiences and critics alike.
He has a likeable and engaging style, warm and chatty which audiences lap up. He has performed at most of the major comedy clubs in the country including the Comedy Store and is a regular on the Jongleurs network.
Charlie is currently writing and developing a sitcom for the BBC Comedy Unit and will be touring his first play, a solo show premiering in the London in July 2006. He has also recently appeared in two audio Dr Who adventures for the BBC.

NEIL MCFARLANE TAKES THE BULL BY THE HORNS
How often in your average day do you see or hear one thing but smell something quite different? Adverts, headlines or managers that make you wanna scream 'suck my legs'? Let Neil McFarlane put it out of perspective for you.
An unspeakably middle class Glaswegian launches a discreet and grammatically impeccable assault on the stage. And he knows what you’re thinking: 'Middle-class Glaswegian? Do they exist? What do they eat?'
In 2006 Neil took his first Fringe Show ‘A Distinct Possibility’ to Edinburgh and then the following month finished third in the Scottish Comedian of the Year competition.
Neil McFarlane has been performing on the Scottish comedy circuit for nearly a decade and is now spreading his as far a field As the north of England, inspiring widespread panic.
He has a reasonable day job, comes from a very secure and stable background with a good education and a high standard of living, and his parents are both still alive and happily married - all of which, from the perspective of artistic integrity and creative angst, are matters of intense irritation to him.
Neil reached the Scottish semi-final of the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2001, so technically that means he's been on the telly (for the 7 people who had BBC THREE at the time). If you really want to stretch the point, he's also been on 15 to 1 twice, and has the dubious honour of being the only contestant in the show's history to have been told off by William G. Stewart for slouching.

BILLY KIRKWOOD IS CHILDISH
Grab your favourite toy and hold on tight, we’re going back on a hilarious alternative flight back to childhood, when 25p was decent pocket money and growing up sucked!
Billy first burst into stand up in November 2005 and has quickly established himself as one of Scottish comedy's most up and coming young acts and has already become a big hit with comedy fans. This has lead to a consistent growth in his small, but ever expanding, cult following.
Billy Takes inspiration from just about anything, from growing up in the West Coast of Scotland, pop culture, eating jelly, horror movies, bullying,
Ted Rodgers, and just generally the world as he sees it...or at least how he chooses to see it.
Last year was a frantically busy year for Billy and his star is set to continue on its’ rise after reaching the final of The Amused Moose Laugh Off at the Fringe in Edinburgh. He also performed at the Free Fringe as part of the ‘Causing A Scene’ improv troupe.
The 27 year old performs around Scotland including the Stand Comedy Clubs in Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as gigs with Glasgow Comedy troupe the Don Quixote Appreciation Society with whom Billy has co-written, and starred with, in two sell out shows at 2006's Glasgow Comedy festival 'Jokes and Stuff' and 'Liquid Comedy'.
Now Billy, in his debut solo show, wants to go back and explore the halcyon days of his childhood when life was much simpler and more logically illogical.

DON QUIXOTE: COMEDY BUZZ
See the next generation of comedy superstars today! Some of the country's very best up and coming stand up comics as well as a pick of the best from this year’s fest.
The Don Quixote Appreciation Society was founded in 2005 by comics Billy Kirkwood, Mark Nelson, Jay Lafferty and David Barr.
Now they have established themselves on the Scottish scene – they’ve gone all charitable and decided to give something back by providing a microphone and stage to up-start comics hoping to make the grade.
Each show will include a selection of the freshest comedy talent from around the circuit as well as the ample abilities of the Don Quixote crew, like Scottish Comedian of the Year Mark Nelson, David Barr of BBC Radio Scotland’s Franz Kafka Big Band, Amused Moose Laugh Off ’06 finalist Billy Kirkwood and Jay Lafferty (pictured). And as well as the newbies they hope to have some very special guests from the Festival join in the fun.
The group is made up of an unique mixed bag of different styled comedy performers which make their gigs a must see. In 2006 the group had two sell out show's at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival with new comedy showcase 'LIQUID COMEDY' and their own special show featuring it's founding performers called 'JOKES AND STUFF'

YOU OWE ME GLUE
Fraser Campbell and Tom Brogan’s cult sketch show returns, packed with new sketches and of course Bertie the Happy Bunny.
YOMG offer comedy that speaks to the top of the room, but never forgets that the main focus is laughs.
You Owe Me Glue is written by Tom Brogan and Fraser Campbell in a vein attempt to force their own skewed view of modern society, history and pictures of dogs onto the general public.
Tom and Fraser first began writing together in the late 1990s on the infamous 'zine Cheery Bananas. CB also included artwork from the artist now known as One Neck. They have contributed sketches to two series of Radio Scotland's sketch show Sabotage.
However they decided that the best and funnest way to get their stuff out there was to get out and do it themselves. They assembled the best comedy performers that would give them the time of day and You Owe Me Glue was born.
The show made its debut at the 2005 Glasgow International Comedy Festival and until recently YOMG was performed on the last Friday of every month in
Blackfriars' basement in Glasgow's Merchant City.
Now they are back with a new show and a new venue and hope to see all their old fans again and attract some new one s too over their three Friday nights at the festival.

Bumper Value Comedy World Series Challenges
WE’VE all had these arguments in the pub – who’s better than who? Where is better than where? Who’s funnier than who?
Well now it’s time to find out and stop the arguing once and for all!
Forget Bob Crampsey’s ‘Now You Know’ or even Showbiz Sam because the answers to some of world’s age old debates will be thrashed out every Friday and Saturday during the Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival in front of a live audience at the West End’s Oran
Mor.
And the beautiful thing is – YOU DECIDE!
Top compere Scott Agnew presides over teams of the best comedians playing at this year’s Festival to decide just who is the daddy in the comedy world.
Who’s funnier, men or women)? Is it scientifically possible for people from Edinburgh to be funnier than Glaswegians? Who’s better craic the Scots or the Irish? Can the English even hold a torch to the Scots in the humour stakes? Do North Americans only have a sense of humour when it comes to selecting presidents? And will we ever actually find a Georgian comedian to take on our challenge to celebrate the Euro 2008 Qualifier at Hampden Park.
It’s our skewed version of a comedy World Cup and you’ll be guaranteed to be entertained by some of the Festival’s best acts as they battle it out for your vote.
9 March - Glasgow v Edinburgh; 10 March - Male v Female; 16 March - Scotland v Ireland; 17 March - Scotland V England; 23 March - Scotland v Georgia; 24 March Europe v North America.

STANDUP! DRINK UP! THE COMEDY PUB CRAWLS
Now a Glasgow International Comedy Festival institution, the comedy pub crawl is not for the faint hearted. And this year there’s two of them – one tours the Merchant City, the other trawls its’ way through the swish drinking establishments of Ashton Lane in the West End.
Picture the scene, around 100 hardy sober souls start off their evening in the calm, chilled surrounds of the stunning Oran Mor at the top of Byres Road
(Lauries Accoustic Rooms King St for the Merchant City tour), where their hosts Des McLean (Radio Clyde) and Alan Anderson introduces them to a comedian, they drink some, they laugh some, they drink some more.
Then repeat five times at various hostelries up and down Ashton Lane (or around the Merchant City) with a different comedian in each venue and the audience reaching varying levels of sobriety as the pub crawlers laugh and drink themselves stupid.
Now in previous years it has been as much fun to watch the audiences on the crawl as it has the comedians. It’s a little like leading a squadron into battle – you know they’re not all going to be there at the end. Are they still standing? Are they all here? Does anyone care?
And then there’s the reaction of the poor patrons at the bars the Stand up! Drink up! tour visits. They were having a quiet pint and a blether. Now they have 100 drunks to deal with and some shouty people with microphones.
And to top off the night, just in case anyone’s peckish the comedy pub crawlers can devour some fresh nibbles at various parts along the tour before enjoying an evening of more drink and some dancing – if they can still stand.
We know the Scottish Executive probably wouldn’t approve of such behaviour – in fact, Health Minister Andy Kerr is probably legislating against “this sort of thing” now. So take the opportunity to do it while you can – get drunk with a horde of strangers and be entertained by some of the finest comics in the land.

ALAN ANDERSON’S FAMILY FRIENDLY COACH TOUR
Alan Anderson –Architectural Historian and Comedian – takes you on a magical, musical, mystery open-top bus tour through Glasgow: her buildings, inventors, murders, jokers, and murkier past.

Alan Anderson has all the answers, and the jokes, in this unique trawl through Glasgow’s history that’ll keep the kiddie winks entertained and –
shhh, say it quietly - might even educate them along the way.
The Comedy Coach Tour has been a sell-out hit at both the Glasgow International Comedy Festival and the Merchant City in previous years and places are very limited – please book early to avoid disappointment.
What better way to pass a Sunday afternoon than learning and laughing at your own city with your family? Family tickets (2 adults and 4 children) are priced at £25.

LATE N’ LOUD
YOU’VE seen the comics do their thing in their own shows – but what do they get up to afterwards?
They’re at the Blackfriars Comedy Cavern chilling out and performing some more, larking about to entertain the hard core comedy punters who just can’t get enough of the
fun and frolics of the festival.
Comperes Alan Anderson, Des McLean (Radio Clyde) and Des Clarke (STV’s Club Cupid and BBC’s Children In Need), plus celebrity guests, comedy favourites and a bar open ‘til 3am – it’s Glasgow’s best late night ‘hang out’, where anything can happen…and it probably will.
This is where the finest in Britain and beyond’s comedy talent let loose and get down and dirty until the early hours of the morning. With material as dark as the sky outside and laughs as long as the licensing hours this is a chance to get up close and personal with the best of the fest.
In previous festivals Ha Ha Comedy’s Late n Loud shows have enjoyed the company of Johnny Vegas, Daniel
Kitson, Phil Kay, Brendon Burns, Lucy Porter, Nina Conti and many many more – all treating punters to special never to be repeated performances.
Often the comedians are as drunk as the audiences by this point so it’s no-holds barred humour that can lead anywhere – but always results in top notch hilarity.
so make sure you’re at Blackfriars Comedy Cavern late every Friday and Saturday during the festival for a truly once in a lifetime experience.
