| Dave Johns has gained a
reputation as an inventive, exciting and extremely funny comedian winning
applause from his audiences, respect from his fellow comics, and rave
reviews from the critics "he has a uncontrived manner and sense of
fun on stage that most comics can only dream about" (The

Dave has had to very successful runs at the
Edinburgh fringe festival in two highly acclaimed shows Dave Johns On The
Edge at the Pleasance Theatre in 1998 "performs comedy's greatest
magic simply by being himself, a genuinely funny engaging performer"
( Glasgow Herald) "A hour of great comedy he's got it made"
(evening news). I'm In The Attic Mother Pleasance Theatre 1999 " He
shifts from the sublime, to genius, to uproar, in the blink of an eye an
extremely entertaining hour." (The Guardian) " Look closely
you will see the man generate sparks of magic" (The List) in 1999 he
won the spirit of the fringe award.
Dave has been invited to perform in festivals in
this country and abroad Glastonbury, Leeds, Hong Kong, Norway Holland,
Bangkok; He has hosted shows at the Kilkenny Comedy festival in Ireland
1997.Aswell as opening for American comedian Andy Kindler. Dave has had
three successful sell out shows, performing at the Melbourne international
comedy festival in Australia 1998,1999 & 2001 "He bounds on stage
singing snippets from musicals and has the audience in the palm of his
hand within seconds. What follows was forty minutes of the most enjoyable
comedy, I have seen so far in this festival. Oh yes we do need you Mr
Johns" (The Age)" the star of the show" (Beat) Dave has
also performed at the Adelaide Comedy Festival.
He has toured with Johnny Vegas, as well as doing an
opening for him at the Regents Park open-air theatre. He has hosted Euro
96 I his native Newcastle in front of 7000 football fans, for the last
eight years Dave has hosted the Gala Show for the Newcastle Comedy
Festival at the City Hall. He is also a regular Performer at the Comedy
store London. July 2001 saw Dave perform at the prestigious" Just For
Laughs" comedy festival in Montreal.
