Each
Al Pitcher show is unique. He eclipses his peers with his interactive
abilities, his audience never quite knowing where he’s leading them,
but thrilled by the journey. With his unpredictable, unsystematic and
upbeat
live
performances Al has consistently wowed audiences across the country
Beginning
comedy in 1999 and reaching the ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ Award
finals held at The EdinburghFringe
Festival, Al decided to capitalise on his growingreputation
by then becoming a Vegetable Picker in Naas,
Ireland . What
perhaps is a humble mushroom to you became Al’s golden ticket . But with
no accolades in broccoli picking, he returned to stand up. In 2001 he
became a BBC New Act Semi-finalist and Daily Telegraph Open Mic Finalist.
With live performances in the UK, New York, Shanghai, Bahrain, Paris, Berlin and Auckland, it’s
really
only a matter of time before you have seen him and met afterwards for a
cup of tea.
A
favourite in all the big clubs like the Glee, Banana Cabaret, Jongleurs
and The Stand, Al is now recognised as one of the best comperes on the
circuit. A star of the Comedy Zone at the 2003 Edinburgh
Festival, Al stormed back to Edinburgh in 2004 with
his
acclaimed debut solo show and he followed this up the following year with
the highly praised Wolfcatcher show. In 2004 he became the voice of the
Fosters Lager TV commercials and Al was commissioned by BBC Radio One to
write and perform on a late-night comedy show The Milk Run.
Now
with 2 Solo Edinburgh Fringe
Festival shows behind
him and with A UK tour in Feb/March, a NZ festival debut
show and a brand new Edinburgh festival
show... It’s time
to go experience AL PITCHER.
Please
note: Most comedians are lazy incompetent sods, who can't read a train
timetable, or would pay 30 pieces of silver to appear on a pilot for a radio
panel show. Thus all line ups are subject to change.
Please check with the venue 24hrs prior
to the show for confirmation of line ups.
